Jim,

If you use our (NCBI's) medline search on the Entrez WWW page (or on
the Nentrez client) and you cut and paste the above paragraph you will
get 30 paper related to this.  I include the titles below, but I invite
you to trty it yourself, with a longer 'abtract' or list of words.

The URL for NCBI (where Entrez lives) is:

and the anonymous FTP address and site for the Nentrez softwareis:

ftp://ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/network/

(software for many platforms are there; Mac, PC, Unix etc)

This ability to do neighboring on the fly is one of Entrez's well kept
secret which not too many people use.  Basically there is a match
between the rare words in your 'text' and the rare words in the subset
of MedLine which is in Entrez (about 1.3 million records, last time I
checked)

What you also see below (this is a cut& paste from the WWW page) are
somethings like:

(View Citation format,Abstract format,MEDLARS format,ASN.1 format, 
 or 30 MEDLINE neighbors )

Which are for these:

Citation format,
Abstract format,
MEDLARS format,
ASN.1 format, 

are different views of the Medline abstarct (eg MEDLARS is good to
import in many bibliographic packages), and you also see:

"or 30 MEDLINE neighbors"

which are links to 30 'neighbors' of that article, ie 30 other articles
which share rare words and MESH terms with that abstract.

in some cases you alsoo see:

 5 protein links, or 3 nucleotide links ...

I am sure you can figure out what these are, and look at their
neighbors ... and so on, and so on!!!
