Someone has done this already using an antiboitic resistance gene as a
marker. I don't have the paper handy so I can't give you a reference.
They used their system to just look at possible interactors. They did
not and I would not recommend trying to use a mammalian system to
screen a library. You usually need to screen at least about 2 million
transformants in a mammalian library and I don't anyone who would want
to do that many transfections.
