Dear Peter et al.,
At times I have flamed about the use of the word "yeast" when what is really
meant is "S. cerevisiae". (I hope the readers of this group understand that
this is mostly, but not completely, said in jest.) I would find it equally
objectionable to create a greater division between the various yeast labs by
splitting up this group by species. (Although it would look cool to have a
bionet.molbiol.micromammal group.) It is not that difficult to identify
posts that are not of interest by the title. Besides, many answers to my
questions have come from "buddies" and I have answered or provided plasmids
to labs that work in S. cerevisiae.

I keep a list of pombe sequence entries. I could post it if there is enough
interest. But first - is this really the right newsgroup for pombe?
