I have used a version of this system with success in pombe and with
suitable modification it ought to work in cereivsiae. It was tested
originally in pombe by Christianne Gatz; I constructed more
general-purpose vectors and a strain that constitutively expresses
tet repressor. In Gatz' system, the addition of tetracycline
depresses the CaMV promoter, which has modest constitutive actiivty
on its own. It ought to be simple to swap in a cerevisiae specific
prmoter if the CaMV promoter doesnt work, and to replace pombe ars1 with
cerevisiae 2micron.
