I have tried numerous times to isolate ura- mutants from a strain of
candida using 5-fluoroorotic acid. I get plenty of FOA-resistant
mutants, but none of them are auxotrophic. U.V. irradiation is being
used for mutagenesis. Any ideas or suggestions.
