Last week I posted a question with regard to how short a 5' untranslated
leader may be. As David Jansma posted, the TRM1 gene has no leader at all.
Other responses directly to me are summarized below:
bacteriophage lambda repressor- no leader
chloroplastic mRNA's- very short leaders
S. cerevisiae genes
PET54- one nucleotide
TRM1- 2 nucleotides (for the larger form of the protein)
