We need to prepare large amounts of 13C-labeled deoxynucleotides by
metabolically labeling cells with 13C-acetate (a cheap labeled carbon
source). The labeled nucs will be prepared by enzymatic digestion of the
labeled DNA. Does anyone know of references from the old literature that
can give us some idea of expected yields and conditions? References to
32P or 14C labeling would also be welcome. Also, is there any advantage
in using Saccharomyces over E. coli? Thanks.
