Which reporter proteins function in yeast

Dear Colleagues:
I plan to test promotor activities of yeast genes by fusing
these yeast sequences to the bacterial lacZ (galactosidase), lux (luciferase)
or GUS (glucuronidase) reporter genes.
Now my questions:
1. Does anybody know whether the GUS reporter works in yeast ?
2. Did one of you construct a yeast strain in which alpha-complementation
(similar to that in the E.coli system) can be used ? Or do you have
any information whether it works ?
I would be very glad if someone could help me answering these questions.

In such a case please contact me at:
