Sorry if this is a FAQ or patently obvious, but-
Does anyone know if having about 12 bp of spurious DNA (NotI plus half a
BamHI site) on the TEL end of a linearised YAC arm affects its stability?
Does the extra sequence mask the telomere, and/or is it chewed back
until the telomere is exposed?
