POSITIONS in YEAST GENETICS at the UNIVERSITY of MINNESOTA
(1) Postdoctoral position in mechanisms of candidal adhesion. Applications are
invited for a fully funded two-year appointment in the Departments of Pediatrics
and Microbiology at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis campus). The
postdoctoral scientist will join a team investigating the structure of integrin
genes in Candida species, their expression in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and
their roles in epithelial adhesion and morphogenesis. Experience in the
genetics and biochemistry of S. cerevisiae is essential. Salary range is from
$21,000 to $28,000, commensurate with experience.
(2) Senior scientist/Research associate. Applications are invited for a fully
funded Ph.D.-level position in the Departments of Pediatrics and Microbiology at
the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis campus). The senior scientist/
research associate will supervise a team of four investigators engaged in
studying integrin genes in Candida species and their role in pathogenesis.
Experience in protein chemistry and eukaryotic molecular biology is required.
Transition to independent funding is encouraged. The laboratory is active and
well-funded by federal agencies and private foundations. Salary range is from
$33,000 to $42,000, commensurate with level of expertise and years of laboraotry
