I have two questions I'd like some input on:
Does sorbitol interfere with the galactose promoter in Saccharomyces cerevisiae?
Can an enzyme be used to selectively remove uracil from YPD, so that yeast
cells are growing under enriched conditions except for uracil? Our cells
grow a day or two slower on synthetic medium as compared to YPD plates, so
we were just curious if electrotransformed cells would survive easier on a
YPD based medium in which uracil was enzymatically removed.
