Assistant Professor - Limnologist

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Missouri-Rolla 
invites applications from qualified, energetic individuals for a 
tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence Fall 
Semester 2001.  The position is in the area of Limnology/Fresh Water 
Ecology.   We are interested in applicants with comprehensive ecological 
and limnological knowledge. Experiences with management of aquatic 
ecosystems (e.g., remediation planning, wetland restoration, or risk 
assessment modeling) would be a plus.  Candidates with excellent 
statistical skills are preferred.  Qualifications for the position include 
a doctoral degree and a minimum of 2 years of post-doctoral experience in 
limnology, evidence of excellence in teaching, and a strong record of 
research.  Successful applicants will be expected to teach at the 
undergraduate level (Zoology Lecture and Lab will be one responsibility), 
participate in the development of a new graduate program in Applied and 
Environmental Biology, and establish a funded research program involving 
both undergraduate and graduate students.  Opportunities exist for 
collaborations within the department and with other departments and
