Faculty Position - Molecular Systematic Biology
UMass Boston

The Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure track
faculty position at the assistant/associate professor level for Fall
2000.  Preference will be given to candidates using molecular techniques
to address problems of systematics, biogeography or geographically
referenced phylogenies at population or higher taxonomic levels.
Expertise with wetland habitats or plant diversity, though not
required, will be an added advantage.  The candidate is expected to
teach an undergraduate course in systematics, a graduate course in the
area of specialization and to participate in the General Education
curriculum.  The University has a strong faculty and very active
research programs in environmental areas, and doctoral programs in
Environmental Biology and Environmental Sciences.   The candidate is
expected to contribute to the development and strengthening of the
doctoral program and to have an active research laboratory supported by
extramural grants.  Applicants should have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral (or
equivalent professional) experience.  Please submit a curriculum vitae,
