You're going to need all your analytical skills to be a mom, just you
wait. It's more than you think but better than you can imagine. If you
don't feel particularly driven right now, take the time and savor your
baby. But don't get trapped!!! Hubs, lovely as they can be, will try to
manipulate you into doing all the dirty work. If that's cool with you ,
fine, but don't get tricked into it for too many years. Sooner or later
you'll get bitten by another bug (teaching, public health maybe?) and you
can do it then. Kids grow up real fast. But they do need you. I'm in the
opposite situation - Used to be a prog/analyst, had two kids, did the mom
at home thing (too long!) and am now within two years of finishing premed.
Girls are 14 & 6, and they still need a lot of attention. Dad only just
woke up to that tune!
Good luck, best wishes, etc.
