Postdoctoral Training Program
Chemical Industry Institute of Toxicology (CIIT)
Continuous. Applications are accepted year-round.
The award amount is unspecified. Stipends and health insurance premiums
are paid by the institute. Reimbursement for moving expenses up to
$2,000 is also available. Approximately ten to fifteen scientists are
accepted annually into the institute's postdoctoral training program.
The CIIT Postdoctoral Program is open to individuals who have recently
completed a D.V.M., M.D., or Ph.D. in toxicology or a related discipline
(such as biochemistry, pharmacology, cell or molecular biology,
genetics, immunology, chemistry, biophysics, mathematics, pathology,
public health, statistics, epidemiology, engineering, or aerosol
Chemical Industry Institute of Technology (CIIT) research seeks to
understand and integrate chemical toxicity data obtained at various
levels of biological organization, from molecules and cells to intact
mammals to populations of people, with a view toward assessing exposure
related human health risks.
Fellows participate in all of the institute's research activities,
interacting with scientists from each research program. CIIT's
integrated multidisciplinary training approach stresses the elucidation
of basic mechanisms in toxicology and their application to human risk
