Research Associate and Research Assistant Positions

The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute is a world leader in using whole
genome approaches to answer biological questions using the latest
technologies. Two years ago, the Sanger Institute announced a programme
to sequence the genome of a model vertebrate: the zebrafish. Two
positions at both postdoctoral (Ref:563) and research assistant (Ref:
562) levels are immediately available to take advantage of this exciting
new research opportunity.

Vertebrate Functional Proteomics

Cell surface receptor:ligand pairs in multicellular organisms are
essential to initiate intercellular signalling and mediate adhesion. The
project will take a whole genome approach to identify novel
receptor:ligand pairs using high throughput proteomic technologies. The
function of identified interactions will be studied in the zebrafish and
facilitated by its experimental tractability.

I am looking for motivated individuals who are eager to learn new and
varied techniques. Previous experience with zebrafish is not essential
but a strong background in molecular biology and protein expression
would be an advantage. Applicants for the research assistant position
should hold a degree in a biological science.

For informal enquiries please contact Gavin Wright (gw2 at sanger.ac.uk) or
