MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION DEADLINE
The last day for manuscript submission is May 2, 2003.
Papers reporting on original research (both theoretical and experimental)
in all areas of computational biology are sought, including
surveys of important recent results / directions. Papers with the topics of
biological networks are especially encouraged.
Typical topics of interest include:
Biological networks
DNA microarray data analysis
Gene networks
Systems biology
CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS
Full size papers submitted by the conference participants will be published
in a special issue of "Bioinformatics" journal devoted to the conference.
The abstracts for the conference will be published available at the
conference.
MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION
(see at the bottom)
Authors will be notified on the outcome of the review on or before
July 1, 2003. A final copy of each accepted paper is required by
September 1, 2003. Four contributed talks will be selected based on accepted
papers.
POSTERS
The conference will include two poster sessions. Posters must be submitted
through the conference website at:

Deadline for abstract submission: September 29, 2003
Acceptance notices will be issued by October 6, 2003
CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
Registration will begin on November 13 (Thursday) at 6:00 PM EST, with a
reception that evening at 8:00 PM EST.
The conference will then begin on November 14 (Friday) at 8:00 AM EST and
continue through 12:00 PM EST on November 16 (Sunday)

contributed talks, and two poster sessions.

The conference will be held at the brand new Georgia Tech Conference Center
and Hotel located in Midtown near the center of the 1996 Olympic
development, close to the Fox Theatre and Margaret Mitchell house. More

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
A manuscript should start with a succinct statement of the problem, the
results achieved, their significance and a comparison with previous work.
This material should be understandable to non-specialists. A technical
exposition directed to the specialist should follow. The length, excluding
cover page and bibliography, should not exceed 10 pages.
The manuscript should be easy to read, using at least 11 point font size on
U.S. standard 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper with no less than one inch margin all
around. If authors believe that more details are absolutely necessary to
substantiate the claims of the paper, they may include a clearly marked
appendix. An email address for the contact author should be included.
Manuscripts that deviate significantly from these guidelines risk rejection
without consideration of their merits.

Send your manuscript via e-mail to Dr. Andrey Rzhetsky (ar345 at columbia.edu).
You will receive confirmation of receipt (or notification that the
manuscript was unprintable) within a few business days. Your confirmation
will go to the e-mail address from which the manuscript was sent. Please
contact us if you do not hear from us.
To be considered, your submission must conform to these simple rules. The
file must be an e-mail attachment, not embedded in the body of the message.
The file format must be Microsoft Word, PostScript or PDF. The printed
manuscript must
contain the e-mail and street address of the corresponding author.
The following suggestions are recommendations only. Your file should be
small because files over a few megabytes may not survive e-mail. Your file
should be compressed, preferably with zip or gzip. Compression reduces the
size of
your e-mail message, and provides us with a simple test for e-mail
corruption.
