Turnover of protein complex

Hi,

I am desperately trying to validate or invalidate the following:

- Degradation of protein complexes is usually negligible in comparison with degradation of single proteins.

-> Intuitive justification: It seems reasonable to believe that protein complexes are more stable than single proteins. This might be due to the (partial) hiding of PEST like domain in protein complexes.

Does it make sense to you? Do you know whether this idea has been demonstrated/stated experimentally?

Many thanks for your help,

Tam
