Yes; for example there is a G-protein alpha subunit construct made by
Christiane Kleuss which has 6 His fused in-frame into an exposed loop
on the helical domain of the alpha subunit. To enhance flexibility of
the His-tag, it is framed by two Gly residues at each side.
