Could someone recommend me a www tool that could predict translation
initiation for a sequence, i.e., start codon (including alternative start
codons) preceded by an SD sequence, and ideally give the size of the
possible protein in an output. I am certainly aware of many sites that have
translation tools, but those do not account for SD, and often do not
consider alternative start codons.
I am trying to find a possible alternative internal translation initiation
sequence from my plasmid, because I get 2 bands of recombinant proteins
produced from my plasmid (detected with the same antibody on Westerns).
Well, for one gene I could do that without using any tools, but it would be
helpful to know if such a tool exists. Any references (including published
ones) will be greatly appreciated.
