We've used the Pharmacia multiphor system without much trouble. It is
expensive if you use the pre-made strips though.
Our main problem appears to be in getting the strips loaded into the gel to
run the 2nd dimension. (we currently use Biorad mini-gels). Even with
super-heated agarose we often end up with air bubbles around the
strip. If any manufacturer has developed a system to streamline this
process, I'd say go with that one.
