There are also different acrylamide mixes. Amresco has a PAGE-Plus,
which has worked very well in my hands for extending the range of
separation, and for the small proteins (~ 4kDa).. FMC's Long-Ranger is a
similar substance. You might also want to investigate Tricine SDS-PAGE.
There are a couple of methods you can find in PubMed. Novex's web site
(which I guess is now www.invitrogen.com) has some products and
references you also might find useful.
