I am looking for an alternate to using CHAPS. The buffer that I use is:
20 mM HEPES, pH 7.4
12.5 mM CHAPS
1M Guanidine-HCl
1mM EDTA
It is used to secrete proteins from plant tissue. The problem that I am
facing is that this detergent seems to be getting more and more difficult to
obtain. Many of our regular suppliers are on constant backorder. Also, the
price is rather high.
I am looking for an alternative compound to use in place of CHAPS. If
anyone has any information, I would be most appreciative.
