Associate Director, Clinical Sample Analysis/Pharmacokinetics

We are seeking an experienced manager to lead a team of 10 13 scientists
in the development and execution of assays for the evaluation of samples
collected during clinical studies. The candidate will interact closely with
the clinical department to assess the assay requirements for different
clinical programs, and will report issues that may affect results and
timelines. This individual will actively participate in the design and
development of appropriate clinical assays, and the adaptation of assays
developed in the research and development departments for use by the
clinical testing laboratory. In addition, he/she will oversee the
operations of the clinical testing laboratory which is responsible for the
receipt, distribution, and analysis of clinical samples, and data reporting
to the clinical department. The selected candidate will be a proven leader
capable of interacting productively with members of the clinical, research,
development, and regulatory staff with the goal of generating clinical
laboratory data of the highest quality.
Requirements:
§ Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or
related discipline.
§ At least 3 years of experience in the evaluation of clinical samples
(serum, saliva, genital tract secretions, etc.).
§ Previous experience designing and developing pharmacodynamic and
pharmacokinetic assays, primarily for antibody and polypeptide drugs is
required.
§ Demonstrated expertise with state-of-the-art techniques for the
detection and quantitation of antibodies and bioactive polypeptides in
clinical samples is also required.
§ Some familiarity with current molecular biology techniques and
FACS-based assays is desired.
§ Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.
