Hi all. I was taught some years ago that urea solutions used for
dissolving proteins should be made up fresh daily. I note, however,
that some commercial products, such as skin lotions, contain urea at
fairly high concentrations (e.g., 10%), and yet are not made up fresh
daily. Does anyone out there know the products that urea forms when
aged in aqueous solution? And does anyone know the ingredients in
urea-containing lotions that prevent these reactions? If not, can
anyone direct me to a source where I might find out? Thanks for any
info.
