I am looking for a buffer which can be used at pH 4 - 5 in liquid growth
media (1% starch, some salts) to
prevent an acidification down to pH 2,5 by my thermoacidiophilic
archaebacterium. The substance should not contain
carbon or nitrogen or should at least not be an intermediate in biological
metabolism.
