Measuring & manipulating yeast ER redox potential

A fully funded two year postdoctoral associate position is available
immediately to study the redox environment of the yeast endoplasmic
reticulum, for the purpose of enhancing heterologous protein secretion.
The project is a portion of a 3 year collaborative NSF grant to Dane
Wittrup (Chemical Engineering, University of Illinois) and Ron Raines
(Biochemistry, University of Wisconsin) and the position will be in the
Wittrup lab in Urbana, Illinois.

Some literature references for background on the project are:

Current Opinion in Biotechnology 6:203, '95
Protein Expression & Purification 6:537, '95
EMBO J. 15: 2659, '96

Candidates must have a strong background in molecular biology, and be highly
motivated and independent. Experience with yeast is helpful but not essential.
Applicants should send their CV and a letter describing their research
