Position open: Postdoctoral research associate to carry out spectroscopic
studies of protein structure. Vibrational and electronic circular
dichroism as well as FTIR and Raman spectra will be used for determination
of the average and determination of sequence specific distribution of secondary
structure in peptides and proteins. Work will include data base
development with multiple techniques, structure analyses of specific
systems, and application ot folding problems using H-D exchange techniques.
A biophysical chemist or the like, who is interested in spectroscopy but
has experience in either protein purification, analyses, modelling or
structural characterization is desired. Any interested candidates should
send a CV and description of their interests to Prof. Tim Keiderling at
one of the addresses below. E-mail (tak at uic.edu) is the most efficient
mechanism.
