Unless there is something new in my mail today that I have not seen
yet, no one has volunteered to be discussion leader for a protein
crystallography newsgroup. This is a precondition to putting the
group out to a vote. We have started several other groups which have
languished when no one took responsibility for getting them moving.
I can think of many great ideas for newsgroups but the key to success
is having someone who is sufficiently active on the net to get the
group off the ground and keep it going.
