I can't imagine that they'll start giving out the pdb for nothing anytime
soon. When you deposit coords with them, they check them for geometry (even
alpha carbon submissions). Also, they hold coordinates from just-published
papers for something like a year at the author's request. Ok, neither of
these things is such a big deal, but neither is the something like 200
bucks that you pay for it so that they can hire a secretary to manage these
kind of things...
