Circadian Calcium Oscillations in Stomatal Guard Cells
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the laboratory of
Dr. Alex Webb. The post funded by the BBSRC for 3 years, is to investigate
the role of cytosolic free calcium in the circadian intracellular
signalling pathway. It is proposed to use the recombinant calcium reporter
aequorin to measure calcium oscillations in stomatal guard cells of
Arabidopsis enhancer trap lines.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant biological subject and research
experience in plant molecular biology. Experience in any of the following
would be advantageous, signal transduction, single cell techniques or
digital imaging. The starting date is negotiable. The appointment will be
made on the Research Associate scale (£16,286-£24,479).
Applications, including a curriculum vitae and names of two referees should
be sent to Dr. Alex Webb, Department of Plant Sciences, University of
Cambridge, Downing Street, Cambridge CB2 3EA, UK (fax: +44 (0)1223 333 953;
email: aarw2 at cam.ac.uk), from whom further information is available.
Closing date 30 July 2000.
