COCONUT PLANT???

Darin.
Likely is a coconut.  The plant will do MUCH better if you repot it.
They're shipped in a rather heavy soil, so they stay upright in shipping,
unpacking, and transporting home, BUT they are sandy soil plants, and would
appreciate better drainage.  A mix that works well is 1/3 cactus soil (sandy
and gritty) 1/3 chopped bark (sold for orchids) and 1/3 red cinders
(lava rock sold for decoration at HD)
Don't want to mix your own?  Repot in a Terrestrial orchid mix.
They also naturally grow in high rainfall areas.  They like rain water, or
distilled water, at least most of the time, especially if your tap water's
hard.
