My Norfolk Island Pine is browning out. It has begun following a spider
mite infestation. The mites have since been eliminated (2 weeks ago) with
the spaying once a week for three weeks of insecticidal soap (potassium
salts of fatty acids) 50.5% diluted...
but the plant seems to be getting worse. The lower branches are browning
out, drying out and coming off if stroked or pulled on.
The top of the plant is still very healthy and growing.
The plant is situated by a living room window, south-west exposure, 45 to
55 % humidity, misted a min of once a day. Showered in coolish to warm
water once a week perhaps. Soil is allowed to dry between waterings
Soil pH unknown.
