POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW POSITION

Applications are being accepted for a full-time position as a
postdoctoral research fellow in
the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Molecular Biology at
the University of Maine.
The research involves the study of the genetic aftereffects of
environmental stress at the
molecular level in both woody and herbaceous plants. A Ph.D. in
molecular biology or related
area with a strong graduate publication record is required, as is
experience with basic molecular
biology skills, e.g. PCR-based DNA cloning, DNA sequencing and analysis
of gene expression.
Experience with conifer molecular genetics will be considered an asset.
The duration of the
appointment is 18 months, with continuation of the position past that
time contingent upon renewal
of external funding. Salary $24,000-$28,000/year depending upon
