Life Expectancy of Cheery Trees

I have a cherry tree that I estimate to be over 50 years old.  It is
very scraggly and has many sores that are oozing sap.  I am considering
having an arborist come to check it out but I am wondering if maybe the
tree is simply at the end of it's life.  Does anybody know how long a
fruiting cherry tree lives?
