True saprophytes

Are there any flowering plants that are true saprophytes, i.e. get their 
energy directly from dead organic matter? The classic textbook example of 
a saprophyte, Indian pipe (Monotropa uniflora) is supposedly often an 
epiparasite because the mycorrhizal fungi it depends on gets its energy 
from an autotrophic plant.
