Does anyone know of any research on the bird-attracting ability of color -- or
possibly translucent coloring -- in berries?
For example, does the purple berry of the pokeweed (Phytolacca americana) or
the red berry of the nightshade or bittersweet (Solanum dulcamara) tend to
attract certain birds and not others, simply because of the color?
