Hi everyone.
I'm a student here at the University of Guelph and I'm doing a
little project for a course called Plant Breeding. Our chosen crop is
pineapple. I though I heard a while back that Columbus first brought
pineapples to Europe and that most of our modern crops were actually
improved in Britain. Is this true? Can anyone send me some info. on
this topic, or a list of a few possible sources of information about
present strains and their pedigrees, etc... Our library here is a
bit light on pineapple info. (not a big enough crop in Canada, I
guess :) )
Thank-you in advance,
-criedl
