Post-doctoral Position available at the University of SW Louisiana
A recently funded DOE grant includes a postdoctoral position to study the
Individuals whose work focuses on the characterization of the plant cuticle,
especially composition, biogenesis, and elasto-mechanical properties, are
encouraged to apply.
We are looking for an outstanding scientist who should be able to interface
with two research laboratories and develop a strong research program.
Qualified applicants should have a comprehensive understanding of plant
biology and contemporary analytical techniques. A working knowledge of GC/MS
will be advantageous.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in plant biology or a related field. The individual
must be able to communicate effectively and will be expected to write
The position is for 30 months, the annual salary will be US 25,000.
The USL Biology Department consists of 30 faculty members and more than 65
graduate students and is actively engaged in many facets of biological
research. Major facilities include a well equipped Microscopy Center and
laboratories, nucleic acid analysis facility etc.
