Some years ago I worked with Naegleria & Acanthamoeba. [grin] But I
haven't kept up with the literature. Nonetheless, a quick Google, and Pub
Med search turns up a number of review articles. Incidentally, in some of
our southern states, a few lakes are posted with Naegleria/Acanthamoeba
warnings during the summer months. But the little buggers can also be
isolated from soil, and even swimming pools if the chlorine level drops.
