Hello,
I am rather new to linkage analysis, and I have only a basic notion of
the whole saga. I have come across some lines like" marker informativity
is very important", "multiallelic markers are more important than
biallelic markers" etc.., in certain articles.
As I said, I do not clearly understand the exact meaning of these.
Another thing i would like to clarify is to know whether a gene mapping
study can be carried out from scratch (assuming whole genome scan) with
automated gene analyzers like ABI 310 etc., How long will such an effort
take?(in terms of years)
What will be the protocols involved?
Is PCR better than RFLP?
What are the advantages of using MAPPAIR Primers ?
They cost ayou heaven and does it improve accuracy and reduce time for
discovery?
Experts out there...Please help.
N.B: Kindly sent any articles which you think can help me!!
