Bioinformatics Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute of Chemical
Ecology.  A position is available immediately for an individual to lead a
new Bioinformatics group focussed on genomics of Arabidopsis and Arabis.
Good communications skills and the ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary
team environment are essential.

A combination of experience in computer science and molecular biology is
desired.  Knowledge of informatics and genomics, as well as C, Perl, Java,
and UNIX is preferred.  Familiarity with plant genetics is desirable. The
successful candidate will supervise maintenance of databases and
establishment of WWW-applications. A Ph.D., relevant publications, and
proven management skills are preferred.  Salary will be in accord with
German federal law (BATII or BATIa) and will be determined by the
qualifications of the best candidate.
