The Division is seeking to appoint a molecular geneticist to work on the
genetic basis of key quantitative traits for eucalypt breeding programs. The
focus will be on wood and pulp traits in E. globulus. You will join a team
which is carrying out research on molecular breeding of forest tree crops
and assessment of genetic resources of native forests.
The position will be funded by the CRC for Sustainable Production Forestry.
The person we are seeking must have a PhD in genetics or a related field
with experience in molecular techniques, including DNA marker technologies.
Experience in genetic mapping and QTL analysis will be favourably received.
You will need the ability to participate in collaborative studies and have
excellent communication skills. The appointment will be for a period of
three years.
