I saw recently a good definition of homology, paralogy, and similar terms
defining genes that are related by different paths of descent.
Unfortunately I have lost track of the reference. Does anyone have a good
reference defining clearly the terms specifying relationships of
corresponding genes in different species (homology?), different genes
belonging to a gene family within a species (paralogy?), and relationships
of gene family members between species (???).
