There is something known as sperm replacement which occurs. In this
process all the sperms whcih were already present are discarded and the
newer ones are used. BUT this sperm replacement favors the sperms which
is fitter....For instance if the first cross was from a very lethal
mutant followed by action a and then the second cross is with the wild
type, then that sperm will probably be retained while the earlier ones
will be discarded. If you see some very old papers in genetics they
talk about this process of sperm replacement. I dont remember the exact
refs, but if you need, i can search and send.
