CyO, wg-lacZ staining

Dear colleagues,

I would like to use CyO Wg LacZ to differentiate homozygous recessive
lethal embryos from heterzygous Cyo Wg Lac Z and homozygous Cyo Wg LacZ
siblings. I use both anti beta gal and X gal staining to pick up mutant
embryos which are not positive for Wg lac Z.

Does the expression of Wg lacz come up in all stages of embryonic
development? What are the stages in which selection is most favourable?

What is the Stage at which the homozygous Balancer animals (Cyo wg lacZ )
die? If embryonic, what stage?

Do the Homozygous Cyo Wg Lac Z balancer animals have any embryonic
segmental phenotype?

Thank you for your kind attention

With regards
GURUDATTA
