PhD student position to work on hearing in Drosophila

A 3-year studentship to study hearing in Drosophila is available at the 
University of Cologne.

This studentship is funded by the Volkswagen-Foundation. The title of 
the project could be ‘calcium-imaging of Drosophila auditory neurons’, 
but may change depending on the interests and abilities of the 

The project will allow you to get familiar with a range of 
neuro-physiological, genetic, and biophysical methods, with techniques 
including conventional laser scanning microscopy, 2-photon microscopy, 
and scanning laser Doppler vibrometry. A background in neurophysiology 
or Drosophila genetics and a general interest in sensory biology are
