Technician Position -- Evolutionary Genetics of Drosophila

A full-time technician position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jim
Fry, to start on or around June 1, 2000.  We study the evolutionary
genetics of Drosophila melanogaster, including the role of deleterious
mutations in population processes, and the ecological genetics of ethanol
tolerance.  The technician's job will be to maintain stocks, conduct
crosses, perform experiments to measure survival and reproduction, order
supplies, and supervise other laboratory personnel.  Some molecular or
biochemical work may also be involved.  Desired qualifications include a
B.S. or B.A. in Biology or related subject, an interest in evolution and
genetics, and previous laboratory experience.  Experience with Drosophila
would be helpful but not essential.  Salary will be commensurate with
