A full time research assistant position is available in a developmental
genetics laboratory in the Division of Biology and Medicine at Brown
University. The research carried out in the lab is focused on the
genetic mechanisms of
TGF-</bigger></bigger></fontfamily><bigger><fontfamily><param>Symbol</param>=
b</fontfamily><fontfamily><param>Times</param><bigger>/BMP
signaling during development. Drosophila is being used as a model
system to dissect the specific roles of different BMP ligands.


Responsibilities of the hired individual will include performing
genetic and molecular biology experiments, as well as, maintaining
cultures, ordering supplies, maintaining records and the general
organization of the lab. Individuals who demonstrate an exceptional
strength in experimental work will be given the opportunity to
participate in data analysis and experimental design.=20


Previous laboratory research experience and a strong theoretical
background in biology, genetics, molecular biology and/or biochemistry
are required.
