Eating behaviour of fly in general

I was having a discussion with a collegue of mine (from Engineering). From
my previous biology knowledge, fly uses digestive fluid to dissolve food and
then extract the digested substance as nutrients. He also pointed out that
some species of fly have pointed mouth piece (resembles the ones of
mosquitos). Is there fly species in this world discovered so far have that
feature ? like cow flies ?

Thanks,
Kenneth
